Class Descriptions

Adult Division

Beginning Ballet

A class for anyone wanting to start the study of ballet, or those who might be taking it up again after a long pause. Although thorough enough to contain explanations of the movements and their safe execution, class will also move quickly enough to give a good workout.​

Intermediate Ballet

A class for anyone wanting to start the study of ballet, or those who might be taking it up again after a long pause. Although thorough enough to contain explanations of the movements and their safe execution, class will also move quickly enough to give a good workout.​

Advanced/Professional Ballet

For dancers with at least four years of ballet as teens or adults. Class will move at a professional class speed, and requires a strong, secure technique.

Contemporary Dance for 50+

This class is designed for mature dancers aged 50 and above, ranging from beginners to former professionals or dance teachers. The class will use the Merce Cunningham technique as the base, with an emphasis on retaining flexibility, balance, and core strength.

Zumba

Zumba based workout class aimed at adult students wanting a good workout to get your day going.

Zumba (lunch mini class)

Zumba workout for those looking for a Lunch time 30 min. workout.

Student Division

Student Intermediate Ballet

5th grade and above. Focusing on the classical line, while continuing the strength-building needed to start pointe work later on, and for the young male dancers to achieve more difficult jumps.

Student Intermediate Advanced Ballet

6th grade and over. This level includes pointe work within the context of the class, for girls who are just starting on pointe, as well as those continuing on pointe and needing further strengthening before they are ready for advanced pointe work. This class level is also functional for boys of the same age beginning to work on more advanced jumps and turns.

Advanced Ballet

8th grade and over. This class continues the study of the advanced jumps and turns, builds longer combinations of classical steps, and will include a separate pointe class for the girls after the technique class.

Children's Division

Me - You & Music Too!

3 years and older. An introduction to the joy of movement for young dancers. This class is great for 3 year old dancers, or older dancers who would appreciate having a parent or caregiver dancing with them.

Pre-Ballet

4 years and older. Movement exploration, strength building, and fun for the pre-school and Kindergarten dancer.

Children's Beginner

1st grade and above. To the barre! Basic introduction to the art of ballet, moving at a lively pace to keep the young dancers’ interest, yet working in a safe and positive manner.

Children's Intermediate

1st grade and above. A youth ballet class for children who have had prior experience with ballet training, working in a safe and encouraging way towards more strength and stretch.

Children's Advanced

3rd grade and up. A continuation and expansion of strength-building, step acquisition, coordination, and stretch.​
