Advanced Division – July 1st -August 2nd
- For dancers ages 13-22
- Already dancing at an advanced level
- With at least 1 years on pointe
SESSIONS & CLASSES:
1 Sessions of 5 weeks
Session 1: Warm up session (July 3rd- Aug 4th) 2 hour morning Technique class, 1 hour daily pointe and 2 hours of Variations, Pirouette concentration, Choreography & Rehearsal – coaching and conditioning. In weeks 2 – 5, we will create two new works for the dancers and these works will be performed for the dancers family and friends at the end of each weekly session.
Every dancer will get personal attention and feedback ensuring consistent growth and improvement.
Weekly afternoon rehearsals and classes will include Classical ballet variations, Contemporary works and Modern dance works.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 4:30pm
DATES: Session 1: July 1st- August 2nd
FEE: 5 weeks Session – $2400
AUDITION PROCESS: All current MCD students are automatically accepted. Students from other schools should call to set up a time to take class at MCD in order to ascertain level. There is no charge for this class, however due to demand and limited number of spots all interested dancers should apply as soon as possible.
Int/Adv. Division – July 1st – July 19th
St. Int/Adv Division is for dancers ages 10 and 13
- Who are in their first year on pointe
- Or not yet on pointe
DAILY CLASSES:
Intermediate ballet class, intro to pointe and variations and partnering, Variations, Coaching, Choreography & Performance, Condition & Stretch, Video viewing and dance history lecture

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 4:00pm (extended drop off and pick up hours available)
Each week we will create a new work for the dancers to master and perform for their families and friends. These performances will take place each Friday Weeks 2-3, of the intensive.
DATES: Full Session: July 1st – 19th
FEE: Full session (3 weeks) $1450

St. Intermediate Division – July 22nd – Aug. 2nd
St. Int. Division is for Dancers ages 9 and 10 who are currently in the St. Intermediate level
DAILY CLASSES:

Children’s Summer Ballet workshop
June 24th -28th & August 5th – 9th
- Beginning CSBW for dancers 5 -6
- CSBW Extended day is for dancers ages 7-8
Faculty: Jenifer Gladney and Erika Mero and Douglas Martin, experienced and enthusiastic childhood ballet specialist.
JENNIFER GLADNEY Jennifer has twenty years of ballet teaching experience with young children, since 2001, as well as teaching higher levels of ballet, modern and contemporary dance. She graduated summa cum laude from Rider University in 2006, where she received a BA in both Elementary Education and Dance, with a specialization in Early Childhood Education, making her a certified NJ Educator from preschool to fifth grade. Jennifer is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher during the school year and has over twelve years experience with this age group in a school setting.
ERIKA MERO graduated cum laude with a BFA in dance performance from Purchase College, State University of New York. While attending Purchase, Erika began teaching both children and adult level classes and has over 15 years of experience with all ages and levels. In May 2010, Mero graduated with an MA in dance education with a concentration in American Ballet Theatre (ABT) ballet pedagogy from New York University.
Both Ms. Gladney and Ms. Mero received their training with Douglas Martin, Mary Barton, Mary Pat Robertson and Maria Youskevitch, and have worked with them extensively over the past 25 years. Full bios are available on our faculty page.
Beginning Children’s workshop includes: Ages 5 and 6
- 8:30am – 9:45am Ballet class
- 9:45am – 10:00am Snack
- 10:00am -10:30am Stretching and mindfulness
- 10:30am – 11:15am – Choreography/rehearsal
- 11:15am -12:00pm – Dance party
- Friday will include observation from 11:00am – 11:30am
Fees – 1 week $220 – 2 weeks – $385
Children’s Workshop extended Day for Ages 7 – 8 includes:
Wake-up the Dancer in You! Warm-up and pediatric kinesiology class, working on special strengthening exercises to create a dancer’s body
- Ballet class
- Introduction to pirouettes and turning
- Conditioning and stretch for the young dancer
- Choreography and rehearsal (includes final showing for parents)
- Character dance, Pantomime and Folk Dance
- Stage Craft – hair and make-up skills
- Video viewing–dance classics, as well as films about young dancers world-wide
- Cool-down, stretching, centering exercises
Fees: 1 week – $325 – 2 weeks – $550
